Peter Pan flies everywhere.
There is a statue of Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens, video games about his adventures, movies, television, and musicals telling his story, Peter Pan peanut butter, frozen food, costumes, pop-up books, games, toys, and an enormous wealth of other products using his character.
He even has a psychological condition named after him: Peter Pan Syndrome.
His place in current culture is still as strong as ever. In the last ten years alone, a live action film of Peter Pan (2003) and Finding Neverland, a biographical film about Barrie (2004), have come out. Famous photographer Annie Leibovitz captured celebrities Tina Fey, Gisele Bundchen, and Mikhail Baryshnikov in the above 2008 photo inspired by the bedroom window of the Darling nursery. Other notable Peter Pan inspired films are the 1953 animated Disney version, the 1960 musical starring Mary Martin, and 1991's Hook, in which Peter has grown up into a man far from his young self and must return to the Never Land to save his children.
Check out a small sampling of Peter Pan's legacy over the last 100 years. Put your dog in a Peter Pan costume, slather up a piece of bread with Peter Pan peanut butter, play some Peter Pan tiddlywinks, and sing along with Peter and friends. From the first time Peter appeared on film in 1924, to his most current form in 2003, to the current Disney Channel show, "Peter Pan and the Never Land Pirates," there are lots of ways to experience Never Land.
